Towns
The most famous towns of Indus Valley Civilization are Mohenjo Daro and Harappa. Both of them were made according to architectural plans. Mohenjo Daro had pools as well!

Proto Shiva
There is a figure found in the ruins of Indus Valley that has many similarities with Shiva from Hinduism - Pashupati (the lord of the animals). The figure is surrounded by animals - elephant,tiger, rhinoceros and a buffalo. There are also a trishula and phallus - all symbols of Lord Shiva.
Seals
It is a mystery what was the purpose of the seals found on the Indus Valley territory. Some scientists assume they were used for trading. They are still not deciphered and around 2000 of them were found.

Indus Valley Civilization had been established around 3000 BC and lasted during 2nd millenium. The Aryan from the continental parts came around 1500BC. They brought Vedas along, in the form of oral literature. The symbols of India as we know it today were mainly not a part of the original culture that was found on the Indian subcontinent but came with the Aryans.
